About 3 years after the launch of Vedic Sadhana App, Om Swami’s Vedic Sadhana Foundation launched Tantra Sadhana App. A completely free and ad-free app, it allows a sincere seeker to awaken the Das Mahavidyas through Divyachar - the Path of Divine Conduct, worship that’s completely inward.

Beginning with Ma Kali and ending with Ma Kamalatmika, the seeker awakens each Mahavidya through consecrated, protected and awakened mantras and esoteric Sadhanas.

Unveiled on April 3, 2025, Tantra Sadhana App revolutionised how the path of Tantra is perceived.

How Tantra Was Perceived Before

Tantra, as a branch of spirituality, was the most untainted before 1526 CE, when the rise of the Mughal Empire began in India. The British rule in India between about 1750 and 1947 made a significant impact on how Tantra was perceived, even by the indigenous Hindus of India.

Perception of Tantra in Independent India

During the British rule, Hindus began censoring aspects of their own religion that would be seen as too pagan or blasphemous by the British, who were predominantly Christian. Certain aspects of Sanatan Dharm like idol worship, elaborate rituals and Yoga as a practice to transform one’s inner alchemy were discouraged, while pure devotion, social service and contemplation of philosophies like Advaita or non-duality had more space to breathe.

Tantric rituals that were designed to elevate one’s consciousness began to be seen as black magic. People began equating all of Tantra with just the Abhichar Kriyas or Shatkarmas of harmful manipulation, which are Maran, Mohan, Stambhan, Vidveshan, Uchchatana, and Vashikaran. Tantra came to be known as a taboo path followed by people who deal with ghosts and spirits. Sincere spiritual seekers were encouraged by the society to follow more socially accepted paths, such as devotional Vaishnavism and Vedantic asceticism.

Perception of Tantra in the West

Curious Western researchers who weren’t too rigid in their religious beliefs began exploring Tantric scriptures and traditions in India during the British rule. A few genuine spiritual seekers like Sir John Woodroffe (Arthur Avalon) made invaluable contributions to preserve, demystify and propagate the true teachings of Tantra. But most of the interested foreigners happened to be passionate about the obscure sexual aspects of Tantra.

Their intention was not to attain liberation but to enhance the pleasures of life, such as sex. Because of the selective knowledge they gained and spread about Tantra in the West, the West began perceiving Tantra as just that: a metaphysical means to increase sexual and other sensory pleasures, which was never the real point of Tantra. They ended up categorising Tantra alongside what they call sex magick in western occultism.

The Recent Online Boom in Content on Tantra

Over the last 10 years, the Internet has become affordable and accessible all over India. This led to an organic increase in online content on the lesser-known aspects of spirituality, including Tantra. Through YouTube podcasts, Instagram reels, Reddit forums, and WhatsApp and Telegram communities, the reach is now further than it has ever been.

Many sources, however, continue misrepresenting Tantra as a topic linked to real-life paranormal stories. There are, however, some that showcase the true purpose and depth of Tantra, based on authentic scriptures and traditions.

This has caused sincere and open-minded spiritual seekers — such as those practising meditation, yoga, self-enquiry, or devotion-led worship — to explore Tantra as a means to transcend their suffering sooner and more effectively.

The Launch of Tantra Sadhana App

The upsurge in online content on Tantra after 2020, particularly the Tantric worship of the Divine Mother in the form of Das Mahavidyas (10 Wisdom Goddesses), created the perfect environment for an app like Tantra Sadhana to be of use to aspiring as well as practising Tantra Sadhaks.

Moreover, the Vedic Sadhana App by Om Swami, which was launched on 1st March 2022, had already laid the foundation for virtually assisted Manas Puja (mental worship) of deities, which is termed as Divyachar in Tantra — an internalised alternative to the more popular Tantric paths of Dakshinachar, Vamachar and Kaulachar.

About Om Swami and Vedic Sadhana Foundation

Om Swami is a modern monk, bestselling author and former tech entrepreneur known for blending ancient spiritual wisdom with practical life guidance. He renounced the world after a successful corporate career in Australia and was initiated into Sadhanas like Sri Vidya by Naga Baba, the late stalwart of Tantra in his time.

Om Swami spent years in intense meditation and Sadhana in the Himalayas, during which He experienced profound states of self-realisation, including Pratyaksha Darshan (direct vision) of the Mother Goddess and Lord Vishnu.

Over the course of His spiritual journey, Swamiji has read and mastered every core scripture of the Vedas and Tantras. He is the author of 17 best-selling books, including If Truth Be Told (His memoir), The Ancient Science of Mantras, The Hidden Power of Gayatri Mantra, Kundalini: An Untold Story, The Legend of the Goddess, and Thirteen Months in the Himalayas.

His teachings draw from classical sources such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and Tantra Shastras, but are structured in a systematised, instruction-based format for modern practitioners.

During His extended periods of solitude in the Himalayas, He performed advanced Tantric Sadhanas, including Sri Vidya Sadhana and practices dedicated to Das Mahavidyas, following the path of Divyachar (mental worship). Through His non-profit NGO, Vedic Sadhana Foundation, He has presented the same Das Mahavidya Sadhanas for the sincere, modern seeker, by creating a dedicated app for them - Tantra Sadhana App.

Conception and Mission of Tantra Sadhana App

The primary objective of Tantra Sadhana App is to make authentic Tantra Sadhana of the Das Mahavidyas accessible to sincere spiritual seekers worldwide, irrespective of whether they have been initiated into Tantra by a qualified personal Guru or not.

To maintain its sanctity, the app is free and ad-free. Sadhaks can offer a Dakshina (donation) of their choice after each ritual, but this is entirely optional.

To make the Tantra Sadhana 100% safe, all the rituals are completely guided, leaving no room for any error. Taken from various Tantric texts, each ritual and mantra has been consecrated and awakened by Swamiji Himself.

With 3D navigation, the Sadhak can completely immerse themselves in the world of a Mahavidya as they move through Her abode, completing tasks and rituals.

The app journey begins with Ma Kali, the first Mahavidya, followed by the progressive unlocking and completion of the worlds and rituals of the subsequent Mahavidyas, ending at Ma Kamalatmika’s Sadhana.

So, by the time a Sadhak has finished the final Sadhana, they would have awakened the presence, guidance and Grace of each of the Das Mahavidyas in their life irreversibly.

App Launch on 3 April 2025

Tantra Sadhana App was made available for download on Google Play and App Store on the 3rd of April, 2025. Users began unlocking and performing Ma Kali’s Tantric Mantra Jap and Yagna right away, progressing towards Her powerful Shav Sadhana.

The app was launched by Swamiji, who, over the course of more than an hour, spoke about Tantra in-depth, the path of Divyachar, and why He chose to reveal the rituals of the Das Mahavidyas through a digital medium.

In the end, irrespective of the medium, the transformation of a seeker’s consciousness when they perform these rituals is undeniably real.

How the First Year Was

About a month after the app’s launch for Android and iOS, the Tantra Sadhana App Team began receiving reports of users experiencing noticeable shifts in their lives — especially towards the completion of their 21-day Shav Sadhana for Ma Kali. As months passed, it only became clearer that Tantric Mahavidya Sadhana through the path of Divyachar produces pristine results.

During special events of worship, a Secret Shrine appeared in the app’s Mahavidya realm during potent spiritual periods like Navratris, Mahavidya Jayantis, Amavasyas and Purnimas. All users could enter the shrine and chant the Dhyan Shlok of the Mahavidya of that day, irrespective of whether they had unlocked that Mahavidya’s world in the app or not.

Tantra Sadhana App is designed to be self-sufficient — users not only unlock Mantras, Yagnas and Sadhanas, but also uncover important scriptural knowledge about the Mahavidyas in the form of scrolls during their quest.

However, to further enrich the users’ spiritual journey, the team also posts additional content on platforms like YouTube channels, Instagram pages, blog posts, and WhatsApp groups.

Expanding People’s Knowledge About Tantra

Not every spiritual seeker in Tantra has the time, energy and ability to read the plethora of scriptures that exist in the tradition. Therefore, relevant and useful information that would further enhance an app user’s journey was extracted by our Tantric scholars and shared on our online platforms.

Our subject matter experts and senior Sadhaks also conduct live workshops on YouTube to prepare users for special rituals, such as the Dhyan Shlok recitations in the Secret Shrine that appears in the app’s Mahavidya realm on important Tithis like the Navratris.

They also aim to give spiritual seekers the right impression of Tantra, so they can decide for themselves if this is a path they wish to explore.

Busting Common Misconceptions About Tantra

Some of the common myths that the app busts are -

  • Tantra is about enhancing sexual pleasure

  • Tantra is a form of black magic to manipulate others

  • Tantra is a shortcut to wish-fulfilment and liberation

  • Tantra is dangerous for householders and beginners

  • Tantra is all about attaining Siddhis (mystical powers)

Tantra, in its purest form, is about rising above societal conditioning and limiting beliefs, and awakening the Divine within.

Eliminating Fears of Tantra

Fears based on misconceptions turn out to be the biggest obstacle in the journey of aspiring or practising Tantra Sadhaks. It is crucial to counter them, so that users of the app can perform their rituals wholeheartedly, with their minds fully immersed in the processes.

Some of the common irrational and baseless fears that keep Sadhaks from beginning Tantra Sadhana include:

  • Fear that fierce Mahavidyas like Ma Kali would punish and destroy them for making mistakes

  • Fear that Sadhana would turn them into a Sannyasi (monk) and disconnect them from family and friends

  • Fear that they would begin having paranormal experiences or encountering dangerous spirits due to Tantra Sadhana

  • Fear of their Kundalini energy getting awakened prematurely and disrupting their life

  • Fear of losing wealth, worldly possessions and career opportunities because of their Tantric spiritual pursuit

But this is far from the truth. A sincere seeker walking the path of Tantra Sadhana in a guided, structured manner, like the app provides, will only see their inner world begin to transform as obstacles naturally become lessons, and remembrance of the Divine begins to show up in every breath.

Increasing Accessibility for Sincere Seekers

Team Tantra Sadhana ensures that any problems faced by Sadhaks are resolved through communication on email and social media post comments and DMs. Special video tutorials are also released to help users understand how to navigate the virtual 3D worlds with ease.

Where Tantra and the App Stand Today

Considering the rise in people’s curiosity about Tantra and truthful online content on Tantra, and also considering the response to Tantra Sadhana App and other efforts by Vedic Sadhana Foundation to make Tantra more accessible, it is evident that not just Tantra but Sanatan Dharm as a whole is at the beginning of a renaissance.

The app is designed for all spiritual seekers who want to worship the Das Mahavidyas through Divyachar. But it has been especially helpful for those who haven’t been initiated into Tantric worship by a qualified personal Guru despite actively seeking it.

The app is now a virtual mentor and Guru.

Make the Most of Tantra Sadhana App

There couldn’t have been a better time for Tantra Sadhana App to exist, because:

  • Smartphones and 5G internet have become accessible worldwide

  • The mental chaos of modern life has made spiritual practises crucial

  • Qualified Gurus who don’t sell initiations at a price are now the hardest to find

  • Some of the physical ingredients required for Tantra have become hard to procure

  • The recent rise in curiosity about Tantra could mislead beginners into unsafe practises

Om Swami says that there is nothing that cannot be attained by Sadhana. If you wish to fulfill your 4 Purusharthas — Dharm, Arth, Kama, and Moksh — through the path of Tantra and Mahavidya worship, Tantra Sadhana App is it.

In just 423 days, you can awaken the Das Mahavidyas and transform your spiritual journey forever.

What are you waiting for? Your future self will thank you for beginning today. :)
